MCPA will co-sponsor Southwest Legislative Reception in Richmond, VA. Governor Youngkin and most elected officials attend.

MCPA will sponsor its annual Legislative breakfast in Richmond, VA.

Arbor Day

MCPA and Virginia Department of Energy co-sponsor the annual Arbor Day Celebration (Location TBD)

May 17-20

Annual Conference

MCPA’s 45th annual conference, golf outing, clay shooting contest, and fishing tournament.  The conference brings together key industry leaders representing Metallurgical Coal producers, elected officials (Federal and State), as well as key leaders from transportation.

The conference activities include:

·    Saturday, May 17 - Annual fishing tournament

·    Sunday, May 18 - Exhibitors set-up exhibits

·    Sunday Evening – Opening reception/dinner and guest speaker

·    Monday, May 19 - Business session 8:00am until 12:00pm 

·    Monday afternoon - Golf outing or Clay Shooting contest 

·    Monday evening - Dinner and Awards Presentations for fishing, shooting and golf

·    Tuesday, May 20 - Business session begins at 8:00am and ends 12:30pm

MCPA’s 38th  Governor's Cup & NMRA VA Post 7 Mine Rescue Contest

The competition is held on the campus of the Higher Education Center, Abingdon, VA. The rescue and safety contests are co-hosted by the Metallurgical Coal Producers Association (MCPA), Virginia Department of Energy, and the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA).

PE Seminar

MCPA sponsors the 17th annual PE Seminar in Lebanon, VA, offering informative presentations from various groups and companies. The Virginia Department of Energy, the University of Kentucky, Virginia Tech and MSHA have speakers providing information from their prospective agencies. Participants receive eight hours of professional credit.

Fall Meeting & Excellence in Mining Reclamation & Safety Awards Banquet

The fall meeting and awards banquet has a short business meeting followed by dinner with a reclamation and safety awards presentation in Lebanon, VA.
